A Bit of This and That

So did you all get hit or did your page rank go up this time around?  Well this blog is fairly new so I wasn’t expecting any page rank to occur here and none did. lol  But, I have a few other sites so I thought I would let you all know how they made out.

Most of my sites remained at a big zero.  That was not a real big surprise as on all those sites I do paid postings.  But what shocked me was one of my sites that has absolutely no paid postings on it what so ever went from a 2 down to a 1.

Oh well.  It has happened to me before and I’m sure it will happen again.  So how bad were you hit?  Or not hit?

I have to say that today was probably the worst day of the summer so far.  Although it was pouring and thunder and lightening out, it was probably the most humid day that we have had so far this season.  I live in a mobile home so the summer months in here are pretty unbearable, but today was the worst.  I had three fans on the go since 7:00 am but it didn’t help much.  Hopefully it will cool down a bit tonight so we can all get some sleep.  But if  it doesn’t, I can see it’s going to be a very longggg night!

Many of you may not know this, but I am trying to get a home crafting business up and running. I have started a website/blog over at Simply Crafting. In this blog I have pictures displayed (samples below) of some of the items that I currently have for sale. Right now most of the inventory that I have listed on the site is of handcrafted jewelry. All of the pieces are handcrafted by me and the prices are very competitive to other sites that I have come across.

My husband is an extremely brave man.  On Saturday he came home with a home care hair clipper set with the express intentions of letting me cut his hair.   In the fifteen years that we have been together he has never let me cut his hair, so this move did actually surprise me.  But since he is going bald in his old age (just kidding. lol about the old age thing), I guess he decided I couldn’t do much harm to his head of hair.

Last night I got out the clippers and told him it was time.  He then stated he “was afraid, very afraid”.  Which I replied “you should be”.  But…I did good.  Although he now doesn’t have much hair left, he still had two ears.  So I guess I did what I was supposed to.  Now my youngest son wants his done the same way.  I don’t know if I’m that adventurous, but we will see.

If you read my previous post, then you would have discovered that I was extremely frustrated with my computer and trying to download the SezWho plugin. I was almost ready to give up on the entire thing, until I remembered a good blogging buddy of mine, Lisa is a wizard at Word Press. She has helped me out in the past so I thought I would ask her if she could give me a hand with this.

Not only did Lisa help me out, she actually got all the plugins on all my sites up and running. So I would like to send out a great big thank you to Lisa for all your wonderful help and wonderful patience. I honestly don’t know what I would do without you.

If you  noticed on my blog a little widget that says “drop yours” or “get one”, then you are looking at my Entrecard widget.  Entrecard is a social site where you can drop your own cards on sites, have people drop their cards on your site and earn credits.  Then you can turn around and purchase ad spots on different sites with the credits that you have accumulated.  Up until yesterday I was in love…with Entrecard.  I’m going to tell you all what changed and maybe you can help me fall back in love again.

Yesterday Entrecard announced that they are going into partnership with a commenting site called SezWho.  Now this concept is extremely attractive.  With this partnership you have more opportunities to earn credits to advertise your site.  But you need to upload their plugin to your dashboard.  And this is where I’m having the problem.

I have downloaded the plugin and have extracted all the files.  But when I go into my filezilla account to upload the plug in it will not do it.  I spent all afternoon yesterday trying this and I’m almost ready to give up!

This is what I’ve done so far.

1.  Logged into my main account.

2.  Clicked on “a-bit-of-this-and-that.com

3.  Clicked on “wp-content”

4.  Clicked on “plugins”

5.  Clicked on “SezWho”

It then tells me that the files were transferred successfully.  But when I go into this blog it is not uploaded into my plugins directory for me to be able to activate it.  If anyone can tell me what I’m doing wrong, I will love you all for life.

Yes, you read that right.  Finally have two weeks I am alone in my house once again.  But…I’m certainly not lonely.  It’s so nice to have the house and this time to myself once again.  When the kids were in school I got so spoiled.  I had every day until two o’clock in the afternoon too myself.  And then summer vacation hit and I had no alone time at all.

Well I’m happy to report that the kids are in a summer day camp for the next three weeks.  So from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm from Monday to Friday for the next three weeks I will be all alone.  I will be able to get some things done that I need to and will also just get to enjoy the quiet.

Now don’t get me wrong.  I love my family to death and love being around them.  But I do enjoy the break every now and then as well.

Well were experiencing another beautiful weekend. So later on today the family and I will be packing up the trailer and heading out to the campsite. The kids are quite excited and have already been packed for a couple of days now. This nice weather that were experiencing was not supposed to happen this weekend. We were supposed to be in for a weekend of rain. But…I’m not complaining.
