Transcription update

Posted by: Kim    in Internet, blogging, work

Earlier in the month I received a chance to do some general transcription from home for a company. They sent me my first two files, and after a little emergency I was able to get them finished. They were very understand about my emergency and worked with me until I could get it finished. As this was my very first work with them, I kind of thought that maybe they wouldn’t use me again because I wasn’t able to meet the deadline. But, they liked my work and offered me more! So I have been doing a lot of work for these guys and was just informed that there will be more on the way. There will be so much work that they will be able to keep me busy until sometime in August.

So, if you haven’t seen me around very much lately, now you know why. And if this other work does come through, then I won’t be around a whole lot during the summer either. I’ll keep you posted.

Looking my age

Posted by: Kim    in general, life

Well it was that time of year again. Yes, that’s right. It was time to head down to my local hairdressers for a hair cut. I only go and get my hair cut once every two years as I absolutely hate getting my hair cut and really despise sitting in a hairdressing chair for any length of time.

Well yesterday I ended up being their for over two and half hours. I decided to get my hair cut and colored at the same time and this is why I ended up being there so long. But I have to say I am highly impressed with the results. All the gray is gone and the cut itself looks beautiful. So, I guess since I spent so much time there yesterday, the length of time was most definitely worth it. I guess now I’ve found a hairdresser I like and I don’t think it will be another two years before I go back.

A day at the middle school

Posted by: Kim    in kids, school

Next year my daughter will be headed off to grade 6. What this means, is that she will be leaving her elementary school and going into middle school. Well, because the district realizes that this is a huge change for the kids, they have arranged for all the grade 5 students to attend the middle school that they will be going to next year for one day. Well today is the day that she will be spending the day at her middle school. She was very excited for this day to arrive and is now at the middle school. I really hope that she has a great and fun day today and hopefully this little experience will alleviate any fears that she has about moving up next year. I’ll be sure to let you all know how she makes out today.

Working schedule

Posted by: Kim    in Internet, blogging, income

As you all know, I have a part time job outside of the home plus I do a little bit of Internet work as well to earn a little more income. I only work about eight hours a week outside of the home so I don’t earn a whole lot of income that way. This is why I also try to earn income through working from home. Right now I do some paid blogging, some paid article writing as well as some home transcription work. All of this does keep me busy. Some weeks more than others. For the next couple of months I will be really busy writing articles and I also have a couple of contracts for some general transcription jobs. So, it’s really good that I get this extra income and I’ll take it when I can. I’m not real sure how busy I will be after the next couple of months, but hopefully something else will come up.

That’s the thing when a person relies on this type of work for income. You just never know when it will come and when it does, you just have to be thankful that you have the work. At least for now that is.

Missing in action

   Posted by: Kim    in work

Well I could be missing in action for a little while. I have just received some work from two different people that I work with and it looks like I’m going to busy doing other things for a while. But, at least it’s a little extra income. And after the last couple of weeks that I haven’t had a whole lot of work, this extra work is looking pretty good right now. So, if you don’t see me around for a few days, now you know where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing.

Grading presents

Posted by: Kim    in kids, school

Well if you are a parent, just like I am, then you know what time of the year this is. This is the time of the year when the kids come home from school and show you their home report card. Now if they do good on their report card, we generally like to give them a little something to reward them for their efforts. But having two kids in school can be very expensive around this time of year as well.

So, when I go shopping for end of the year gifts for the children, I usually try to find some type of deal so I can save some money. Well this year I have come across a site where I can get some pretty sweet deals for gifts for the kids. I found it over at Coupon Trunk. This site lists just about every store you can imagine and gives you hundreds of coupons to choose from. So since I need to make a purchase anyway, finding this valuable coupons will really help. I will probably make my purchase at our local WalMart so I was really pleased to find that this site offers coupons from this retailer.

So if you are looking to purchase any type of gift and would like to save yourself some money, then I highly suggest that you check out this site and take advantage of all the coupons and savings that they have made available to you.

Hide and seek

   Posted by: Kim    in kids

My youngest son has got to be the funniest little kid on this planet. About a month ago we bought the kids a hamster. They called him Speedy. Well Speedy doesn’t do very much and mainly sleeps most of the time that their awake. So they were a little disappointed that this hamster wouldn’t be a very fun pet.

Well the other night my husband put Speedy in his ball. Then my youngest son proceeded to play hide and seek with him. He would set the hamster in the living room, go into the kitchen to count and then wait for Speedy to come rolling out to him. They played like this for about half an hour. So yes folks, just in case your wondering. It is possible to play hide and seek with a hamster. You just have to be the one to count as they can’t!

Transcription career update

Posted by: Kim    in income, work

Well I figured I would give you all an update on how my journey into the general transcription world has been going so far. Well, so far so good. I have completed a couple of jobs for a couple of different people and have decided that I really do like to do this type of work. It is a difficult job and can be quite frustrating at times, but I really do love a challenge so I am more than happy to keep up with us.

And… yesterday I was hired on by an actual company. Today will be my first day at transcribing for them and I am really excited about this venture. So that’s where I’m at with this new career of mine. Hopefully I can continue to get work from different individuals and be able to earn a little bit of money through this method.

Still here

   Posted by: Kim    in blogging

I’m still here guys!

It’s been a pretty crazy week. Earlier this week my manager’s husband passed away. So I’ve been working quite a bit at my outside job trying to help her out. So that has pretty much put my blogging on hold for a little while. She will be out for at least a couple of more weeks. So I really don’t know how much blogging I’m going to get done over the next few weeks. But when things start to slow down at work, I will be back to blogging.

Until then. Take care and I will talk to you soon.
