The other day I had the opportunity to speak to my son’s grade 4 teacher. She informed me that he is a wonderful student and very bright. But she is having a very serious problem with him right now. He NEVER stops talking. She actually asked me if he ever stops talking at home and I had to tell her no, he never does. This kid even talks in his sleep. She was laughing about it because she has never (in all her years of teaching) experienced this kind of thing. She speaks to him on a daily basis about it. But in all honesty I don’t think he can help himself. He tries to be quite, he just can’t. But other than that he is doing wonderfully in her class. Hopefully he can control is talking a little bit better. But, if that’s the worst thing he is doing, then I really don’t think he’s doing that bad.
I have to say that I don’t know what I would do without the invention of caller ID. My husband’s bank is constantly calling him. And it doesn’t matter how many times I tell them he is not home and is at work, they still call during the day. So… when the phone rings I just look at the number. When I see that it’s his bank again…. I just let the machine take it. Honestly this little invention has saved me a world of frustration. Now if they would just only stop calling altogether, I would be one happy lady.
As you all know my little girl is now 11 and goes to middle school. I thought she was way…. to young to be going to junior high, but what I found out yesterday has me absolutely terrified. Apparently she now has a boyfriend!! Yikes!! This kid is way to young to be talking about boyfriends. And the most terrifying thing. This boy likes her too. Yes I know it’s nothing real serious at this point, but it sure has me thinking about things to come. Man…. am I getting old!
I don’t normally enter a lot of contests. But when I run across one that excites me, I just have to come on in here and tell you all about it. Well, I found a contest that I’m sure you will all be interested in! This contest is sponsored by Casa di Mama. The Dr. Oetker Kitchen Makeover Contest is one of the most exciting contests that I have come across in a very long time. All you need to do is pick up a pin from a specially marked package of Casa di Mama Pizza. That’s it. Then your entered in to win the huge kitchen makeover. But…. there’s more. Even if you don’t win the grand prize, there are lots of cool secondary prizes to be won as well. You can win a fridge/freezer, freestanding electric range, dishwasher or microwave, and Casa di Mama Pizza or a pizza cutter.
If I won this contest, I would be in seventh heaven. My kitchen has not had a makeover in over 10 years. So I could surely use the grand prize. But if I didn’t win the grand prize, I would be extremely happy to win any of the secondary prizes as well. So…. what are you waiting for. Stop reading and head over to the site to enter. While your there, why not sign up to become a Savoury Moments Member.
But there is one catch. This contest is only open to Canadian residence and you must have your entries in by January 4, 2010. Good luck to all that enter!!

That’s right. You read that right. Sometime today we are expecting to have snow. It’s way…. to early in the season to see this and I am not impressed. I guess the only good thing about this kind of weather this time of year, is that none of this snow will stay. But, if this is a preview of things to come, I don’t want it. Snow…. snow go away!
Years ago I loved to cross stitch. But lately I just can’t seem to get myself into it. Last week I decided that I would make a counted cross stitch piece for my father in law and his wife for Christmas. I started a piece, but I’m really not that eager to continue with it. I know I really should start working on it and finish it, but I really have no interest in it. I don’t know if I’ve lost my love for crafting or if I’m just going through a dry spell. Hopefully my love of it will come back soon and I will be able to have it completed for Christmas.
