Yesterday we had a seriously fun day. Not!! At 4:00 am we were woken up by our youngest son screaming that the power was out. He is seriously scared of the dark and at 4:00 am, he wasn’t impressed that the place was in total darkness. My husband found him and got him settled down, but he still wasn’t happy that we had no power. We just assumed that it would be out for only a little while but it ended up being out for over eight hours. This did not make for a very fun day. Finally after eight hours the power came back on and the kids were able to watch TV and play the computer. Honestly I really don’t know how they did it in the olden days.
As you could tell by my last post, I was in a little bit of a panic mode concerning the upcoming holidays. Well, I’m feeling a bit better now and I’m going to tell you all why. I was just informed that I can participate in an online chat with Sebastien Centner who just happens to be one of Canada’s top entertainment experts. This chat will take place on November 30th and I can ask him all kinds of questions concerning my holiday preparations. This makes me very happy. All I needed to do was to head over to www.festivehome.ca and register.
Not only will I be able to participate in this live chat with Sebastien, but I am also able to enter their contest to win a fully catered party for up to 30 guests. Now that’s my kind of Christmas party! So if you are anything like I am and are starting to feel the pressure, why not take a little weight off your shoulders and join in on this chat session as well. While your there, sign up for the contest and quite possibly all your Christmas planning woes will be a thing of the past.
Can you believe that there is only one month until Christmas eve??? Well, I can’t. I am so…. not ready. Every year I promise myself that I am not going to leave everything to the last minute. And every year I leave it to the last minute. Well this year is no different. I have barely scratched the surface and now only have exactly one month to get everything done. If I sound like I’m starting to panic, well…. your right! Oh I know it will all get done, but I really wish I was further ahead than I actually am.
If your anything like I am, then you are always looking for ways to find extra money this time of year. Not only does the cost of living go up quite a bit this year, but with having to buy a lot of presents for family and friends, you probably need the money just as much as I do. So I have been checking out different ways to earn a little extra cash. A couple of the ways I have found is by creating jewelry, writing articles for different companies and selling items on E-Bay.
Well I have come across another way as well. I have discovered that you can make extra money by selling scrap gold. There are sites out there where you can learn the right way on how to sell scrap gold and there are a lot of companies that are willing to pay you for all your scrap gold. Although this can be a very lucrative way to earn cash, you really do need to be careful with some of the companies you are considering dealing with. There are CashforGold scams you must know about before selling gold jewelries online. By keeping yourself informed and knowing which companies to deal with and who not to, you really could make the extra cash you need this coming Christmas.
Our annual Santa Clause parade will be happening tomorrow night. And I have two young kids who are super excited about this. This parade is all they have been talking about for the past couple of weeks. They plan on making out their letters to Santa and handing it to the postal employees tomorrow night at the parade. And…. they both can’t wait to see Santa. Although I am 41, I am quite excited about this evening out as well. I love to watch the kids faces as they see the different floats going by and I’m sure this year will be no different. The weather man is calling for a nice evening tomorrow night. So as long as the weather holds out for this event, our entire family will be going out to get a glimpse of the big guy himself.
So I’ve started back at my home crafting business. This is actually the best time of year to sell handcrafted jewelry so I have been a busy little beaver getting ready for the upcoming Christmas season. I have sold a few pieces and am extremely pleased about this, but I would love to sell a whole lot more. So I have been advertising a lot more and am thinking about branching out to different areas of the business.
One area where I have been paying close attention to is my customer service. Although I am quite pleased with the customer service that I do offer and the customers seem to be pleased as well, I know there are areas that I could improve in. One such area would be the methods in which I use to contact and to interact with customers. I have been checking out some virtual hosted predictive dialers to see if this type of service would benefit me in any way. I really do think it would so I am going to give this area a lot more thought and then maybe after the Christmas season is behind me, I will check into this option a little more closely. All these improvements can only help the business right?!
Well it looks like I have no choice. I have to go to the dentist. Now to most of you this probably wouldn’t be a huge deal, but I am absolutely terrified of dentists. I haven’t been to the dentist in over eight years (yeah, I know that’s bad, but really I am absolutely scared to death of them). But I have had a tooth ache for the past month and really have to go and get that looked after.
So I’ve been digging around the Internet trying to find a dentist that I may end up going to. I have been checking out places like San Diego dental crowns and other dental offices and have been extremely impressed with what I’ve read. So now all I have to do is make my decision of who to go to and make the appointment. I realize that my fears really are groundless, but I still can’t help feeling the way I do. But in the end, I think the tooth ache pain is going to win over my extreme fears.
Thursday of last week I went to look at a 2001 Neon and ended up buying it. The car that I currently own is a 1996 and was due for inspection within the next couple of months. Well I knew it wouldn’t pass inspection without putting quite a bit of money into it and I didn’t want to do that for a car that old. So I bought a newer one! I picked it up and Friday and having been driving it quite a bit since then. To say that I absolutely love my new car is a serious understatement! It’s a good thing that I love it as I’m going to have to keep it for a while. So that is my latest purchase in life. Now if we could only buy our house, I will be perfectly set for life.
Where does the time go?? Seriously it just seems to fly by these days. It’s Friday already and I really couldn’t tell you where the week went. Wednesday was a holiday for my husband and the kids so maybe that’s what is messing me all up?? I don’t know. Oh well, have a great weekend and I’ll see you all again real soon.
Last week was a pretty rough week for my entire family. All of us were sick. So this meant that I didn’t get a whole lot of work done around here at all. So today I get to try and play catch up. I’ve already been to the bank and the grocery store. I’m trying to finish up all my online work. Then I have dishes, laundry…. etc to complete. I don’t know what is worse. Being sick and not being able to do anything, or feeling better and having to do everything. Oh well, I’m sure all my work will eventually get done.
