Christmas cleaning

   Posted by: Kim

Well I’m sure that many of you are like me and doing some massive cleaning just before the holidays. Well I have started my cleaning already and now have help in getting all this cleaning done and getting my house to smell just like Christmas. A couple of days I received a package from Febreze to try out and see what I thought of all these products. As you can see by the picture below, I received quite a few products. Although I was given these products to keep after trying them out, this post and the information that I am sharing is my true and honest opinion and I have not been asked to post in any specific manner.

So after testing out all the products that I received, I have to tell you all that I was highly impressed with each and everyone. The Febreze products were just outstanding, but since It’s Febreze, I really wasn’t surprised. The Dawn dish washing liquid and tablets worked as well as they promised, and the Swiffer duster delivered the results I was expecting.

I really have to tell you all, that if you have some Christmas cleaning of your own to do, then your really going to want to pick up a few of these products for yourself. Your house will thank you for it!!

Win a kitchen makeover

   Posted by: Kim

I don’t normally enter a lot of contests. But when I run across one that excites me, I just have to come on in here and tell you all about it. Well, I found a contest that I’m sure you will all be interested in! This contest is sponsored by Casa di Mama. The Dr. Oetker Kitchen Makeover Contest is one of the most exciting contests that I have come across in a very long time. All you need to do is pick up a pin from a specially marked package of Casa di Mama Pizza. That’s it. Then your entered in to win the huge kitchen makeover. But…. there’s more. Even if you don’t win the grand prize, there are lots of cool secondary prizes to be won as well. You can win a fridge/freezer, freestanding electric range, dishwasher or microwave, and Casa di Mama Pizza or a pizza cutter.

If I won this contest, I would be in seventh heaven. My kitchen has not had a makeover in over 10 years. So I could surely use the grand prize. But if I didn’t win the grand prize, I would be extremely happy to win any of the secondary prizes as well. So…. what are you waiting for. Stop reading and head over to the site to enter. While your there, why not sign up to become a Savoury Moments Member.

But there is one catch. This contest is only open to Canadian residence and you must have your entries in by January 4, 2010. Good luck to all that enter!!

Handcrafted jewelry

   Posted by: Kim

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, then you are well aware that I make homemade jewelry and other crafts and sell them from home. Lately this endeavour hasn’t really been working out in my favour. I have sold a few pieces of jewelry and a couple of quilts, but I really don’t have the business that I would like to have.

One thing that I have done is set up a dedicated website to sell my crafts from. I have managed a few sales through this website, but to increase sales, I’m thinking that I’ve got to bump things up a bit. One of the things that I have been looking at to increase sales is to start using a website credit card payment processing system. I have heard that by using credit cards to get payments from customers you can increase business. I have been checking out the www.braintreepaymentsolutions website to see what it would take for me to be able to start accepting credit cards as payment. It seems to be a very straightforward process and I have decided to try this out. Hopefully by offering the option to used credit cards, I can start having the sales that I’ve always dreamed about.

Febreze Home Collection

   Posted by: Kim

Most of you may not be aware of this, but I am a huge Febreze fan. I have probably tried out every Febreze product that is available on the market and have fell in love with each and everyone of them. That is why when I was given the opportunity to try out the new Febreze Home Collection, I jumped at the chance.

In this collection I was given a scented reed diffuser, a soy blend candle and a flameless luminaire kit to test out and give my opinion on. Well after receiving my products in the mail (thank you Febreze ), I ripped open the package and started testing out the products. You can just imagine my delight at being able to test out these different scents. Another thing I discovered about the Febreze Home Collection is that not only does it give you a perfect aroma for your home, but the products themselves are so stylish that they add class and style to any home decor.

Seriously folks, the next time you in the market for an air fresher or scented candles for your own home, your really going to want to check out the Febreze Home Collection. Who knows, maybe you’ll become addicted to Febreze and their products just like I have.

Settling into my routine

   Posted by: Kim

Well the kids have been back in school for exactly a week now and I have just begun to get settled in my routine. It’s nice to be able to have all this free time to get things done that need to get done while their both out of the house. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten a lot accomplished, but I am getting there. I have been doing some extra computer work and been doing a lot of housework as well. It doesn’t look like I’m accomplishing much, but I think I’m slowly getting things the way I want them to. So, I will keep plugging away at all this and maybe sooner rather than later I will have everything done that I want.

Annoying neighbors

   Posted by: Kim

I really do need to go on a rant here! I am so tired of my neighbor’s kid, that I’m at my wit’s end. She is up here constantly, even when my daughter tells her that she is not going outside. When she doesn’t get her own way, she then gets her mother, father or babysitter to call me to ask if my daughter can come out. This is really starting to get on my nerves!! I really don’t know what to say to this kid and her family without starting world war six. Hopefully we sell our home right away so I can remove myself and my daughter from this situation. Otherwise, I honestly think I’m going to blow.

Major purchase

   Posted by: Kim

Well guys after four years of complaining to my husband, I’m going to make the purchase myself. That’s right. I’m talking about a dishwasher. I have been wanting one for years, but the money needed to purchase one always ended up going someplace else. But I was able to make some extra money last month from doing some general transcription jobs so I’m going to take that money and buy myself the dishwasher that I’ve always wanted. Now all I have to do is talk my husband into putting the thing in for me. But, it’s going to happen. Hopefully within the month I will have my brand new dishwasher.

Spring is right around the corner

   Posted by: Kim

With spring right around the corner, so comes spring cleaning and the spring renovations as well. I just love this time of year. It gives me an excuse to go shopping! This year we have decided to re-do the bathroom and our bedroom. It’s only two rooms out of the house, but it will be two rooms that we don’t have to worry about any more. I would love to purchase some new bedroom furniture and if I have any money left over after the renovations, that’s exactly what I am going to do.

I have searching online for different stores that carry bedroom furniture as well as bathroom vanities and other bathroom fixtures. The site I found is over at maxfurniture.com. This store carries a wide selection of furniture and their prices are extremely competitive to other stores that sell similar products.

There are several great features that I discovered that this site offers. Right now they have a huge sale on and are offering free shipping on their orders. Their selection of inventory is quite extensive and includes bathroom vanity sets , bedroom sets as well as clearance items. Their prices are really reasonable and I am quite confident that I would be able to purchase everything I need and still have a little left over.

So…if you are being a spring renovation project yourself and are looking for some great deals on furniture, then I highly suggest that you check out this site.

I want a house!

   Posted by: Kim

Right now we live in a four bedroom mobile home. Now you would think that that would be plenty of room for just the four of us wouldn’t you?? But nope. We have so much stuff that when you walk into my home, you are constantly tripping over things. And yes, I have tried to de-clutter and throw things away, but it only seems like when I do this, it gives my husband an excuse to go out and get more stuff. So right now I have two options. Option one…get less stuff (tried that, didn’t work), or option two…get a bigger house. I’m leaning toward option two. Now all I have to do is get my husband on the same page and we will be good to go.

Finishing up the renovations

   Posted by: Kim

I am most pleased to announce that we are almost finished the renovations on our home. Although it has taken us a couple of years to get to this final stage, I am quite pleased with the results that I have seen so far. Now all that we have left to do is just minor things. We need to purchase some new kitchen lighting, bedroom lighting fixtures and outdoor lighting fixtures. Once these purchases are made, then our renovations will be complete.

Thankfully I have found a site on the Internet where I will be able to make all these purchases at an extremely affordable price. When I started looking at lighting fixtures, I wasn’t really interested in purchasing a chandelier but after taking a look at this site, I think I’m going to take the plunge. Their prices are extremely competitive compared to other sites on the market and with their free shipping and 125% price match guarantee, I really can’t go wrong.

So, after these purchases are made and installed, my renovation project will finally be complete.
