Yesterday I received an e-mail from my oldest son. He is coming home for a visit. Two years ago he moved out and moved quite far from home. So we haven’t seen him in two years. But he finally has the money and time to come home for a visit. And his brother and sister couldn’t be happier. They have already made a lot of plans for his visit and really just can’t wait to see him. His father and I are waiting anxiously as well. But I still don’t think that we are as excited as the two kids are. Hopefully his plans don’t change, or there will be two really, really disappointed kids! He is supposed to be home on August 2nd which will be just in time for his brother and sister’s birthday. They have both claimed this will be the best birthday present they could ever receive. So guys keep your fingers crossed that he gets to come home.

I am normally a pretty meek and mild person. But if you go after one of my kids, you can see the claws come out. Well, the claws are out. We have one little boy on our street that is constantly being mean and hurting the other children on our street. And his parents are fully aware of his behaviour and do nothing about it!! Well, yesterday he was hitting and kicking both of my kids and I’m not having it. I ended up bringing the kids in early yesterday, but shouldn’t have to do this. So the next time he touches either one of my kids I will go to his parents. If it happens again, I will then go to the police. I really do think that it’s going to be a very long summer. But I will win this fight. I guarantee it!!

grade 6. What this means, is that she will be leaving her elementary school and going into middle school. Well, because the district realizes that this is a huge change for the kids, they have arranged for all the grade 5 students to attend the middle school that they will be going to next year for one day. Well today is the day that she will be spending the day at her middle school. She was very excited for this day to arrive and is now at the middle school. I really hope that she has a great and fun day today and hopefully this little experience will alleviate any fears that she has about moving up next year. I’ll be sure to let you all know how she makes out today.

be the funniest little kid on this planet. About a month ago we bought the kids a hamster. They called him Speedy. Well Speedy doesn’t do very much and mainly sleeps most of the time that their awake. So they were a little disappointed that this hamster wouldn’t be a very fun pet.

Well the other night my husband put Speedy in his ball. Then my youngest son proceeded to play hide and seek with him. He would set the hamster in the living room, go into the kitchen to count and then wait for Speedy to come rolling out to him. They played like this for about half an hour. So yes folks, just in case your wondering. It is possible to play hide and seek with a hamster. You just have to be the one to count as they can’t!

Last month my kids were involved in provillus pills only
a pedometer challenge in their school. My son’s grade 3 class one the challenge for his grade level and was treated to a sledding party. Well this past weekend it was time for the some of the parents of some of the students to take up the challenge. My son volunteered my husband and I to take part in this. As the parents who had the most steps during this challenge had a chance to win some Sea Dog hockey tickets. And my son really wanted those tickets.

Well today he took back the pedometer. We should know by the end of the day which family one. I don’t think it was us as my husband is not that active. LOL On Saturday I wore it to work and logged in over 10,000 steps. I was really busy that day. But on Sunday my husband wore it and only logged in about 1500. But it was a fun experience for my son. And who knows, maybe I walked enough for the entire family. My feet sure felt like I did by the time my shift was over on Saturday.

less than a week. This is getting a little insane. This morning we woke up to more of the white stuff and all the schools were closed once again. Although it’s only 10:00 am here, it’s been such a long day already. The kids have pretty much been squabbling all morning. And because it’s still snowing and nasty outside, it looks like they will be inside for the remainder of the day which means more fighting! I really don’t know if I am going to make it. Hopefully this snow stops soon and they get all the roads plowed. These two kids really need to be in school.

you may not know this, but one of my favorite hobbies to partake in would be crafts. I do all sorts of crafts such as cross stitching, plastic canvas, knitting, sewing, quilting, making jewelry and scrapbooking. Well I have a ten year old daughter that I have tried to get interested in doing the different types of crafts. But she doesn’t seem to have the patience.

Well you can just about imagine my surprise when she came home last week with a permission slip to join the cross stitching class. Any time I have tried to show her, she has lost interest very quickly. This is why I was surprised that she had some interest. I don’t know maybe some of her friends are participating, or maybe it’s because the teacher that’s doing this is one that she really really likes. Whatever her reason, I’m glad that she is finally showing an interest in crafts. And if this teacher can teach her, then that’s a bonus as well.

fan of winter. I seriously dislike the cold, snow and ice. But I would have to say what I really despise about winter is the amount of storm days that we end up getting. A storm day means that I have the two little people home with me all day instead of being in school. And what this means is that I get an extra day of listening to all the fighting and squabbles.

So today we have a snow storm due to the amount of ice that is covering the roads and I have been blessed with listening to a large amount of fighting. We are supposed to get more snow tonight which means we may possibly have another storm day tomorrow. I certainly hope not, but if we do I think I’m going to find myself some ear plugs!
