Remembering

   Posted by: Kim

Well I’m sure your all aware that today is September 11th. Eight years ago today this country experienced the worst terrorist attack that we ever seen. And even after eight years, the horror of what took place that day still stays with us all. Well today is a special day in our home for another reason. Two years ago today my very dear mother in law passed away. Even though it’s been two years since her death, we still miss her everyday and her loss is always with us. So today is a day for remembering and reflection in our for a couple of very important reasons.

Finally summer!

   Posted by: Kim

Yes I realize that this is September 2nd. But…. we really haven’t had much of a summer this year. And now with only six days left until the kids are back in school we are finally experiencing some nice weather. Well I’m not complaining. But I really do wish this type of weather came a lot sooner than it did. I think we are going to have a beautiful fall. And although this kind of weather won’t benefit the kids very much, it certainly will benefit me. So I guess I’ll enjoy this weather while we have it and take the kids outside for as much time as we can.

Summer meltdown

   Posted by: Kim

Honestly I can’t believe our weather this summer. Last month all we seemed to have was rain, rain and more rain. Well when the month of July left us, so did the rain. So far the month of August has been hot!! And when I say hot, I mean brutally hot! For the past few days we have been enjoying sunshine. But we have also been subject to +35 degree temperatures. I really don’t know why we can’t have something in the middle. Oh well, this sunshine sure is better than all the rain we were having so I guess I won’t moan and complain too much.

Disappointing weekend

   Posted by: Kim

To say my son was not impressed with life this weekend, would be a mild understatement. On Friday his grandfather was supposed to drop by with his and his sister’s birthday cards. Well he didn’t and didn’t even call him to say he wasn’t coming. Then we were unable to go camping this weekend. Not because of the weather this time, but because his sister was sick the entire weekend. And finally his older brother was supposed to come home for a visit. Well he didn’t and also didn’t call or e-mail to say he wasn’t coming or the reasons why. So my little fellow had quite a few disappointments this weekend. We did try to make it up to him, but you could tell that he was still bothered by the weekend’s events. Hopefully he doesn’t have a disappointing weekend like this one ever again.

Quiet weekend

   Posted by: Kim

It was a pretty quiet weekend around here. The weather wasn’t really nice so we didn’t get to go camping. Then my husband got called into work, so that kind of squashed any other plans that we had. But the kids were able to get outside for a little bit so they were both happy. Although it was a quiet weekend, it was nice and relaxing so I guess there’s no complaints here.

Busy

   Posted by: Kim

As you can see, I haven’t been around much lately. Well I’ve been busy with my transcription work. Hopefully things will calm down a bit a little later in the week and I will have time to come in and do a bigger post. So until then I hope you all have a great week and I’ll talk to you soon.

Brand new product

   Posted by: Kim

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I were watching TV and just happened to see a commercial that looked of interest to us. The commercial that we watched was advertising a brand new product from Dr. Oetker. This product is a baking product. With this product, you are able to make muffins, pancakes, or cupcakes! This is actually an excellent product for someone like me who isn’t able to cook.

All you need to do is to purchase the can of your choice, add milk and then shake the container. Really, it’s as easy as that. Honestly, even my nine year old son would be able to make these lovely treats. So last week when we were grocery shopping we bought one of Dr. Oetker’s pancake mixes. And yes, this product really is as easy to use as the commercial claimed it to be.

So, if you enjoy pancakes, muffins or cupcakes and would like to see for yourself how easy this product is to use, then I highly suggest that you go to your local grocery store and pick up a shaker or two. Plus, if you’d like to win free stuff, then you can enter every day for your chance to WIN a $1200 Visa Card for your next family fun weekend or 1 of 10 Dr. Oetker Shaker fun packs.

Back to my routine

   Posted by: Kim

Last week husband was home on vacation and I have to tell you all that he seriously messed up my routine. When he’s home, I can never seem to get anything done. He is always underfoot and doesn’t quite get it that even though he’s home, I still need to work. But he’s back to work today so I should be able to get more work done this week. Don’t get me wrong, I love my husband and love having him around, but I also love it when he goes back to work so I can get things accomplished.
